Voices Of(f) – Beirut
German title: Voices Of(f) – Beirut
2002, 52 minutes
ABOUT THE FILM
„After the end of war you start paying the price for war.“
The Lebanese civil war came to an end ten years ago. For 17 years, between 1975 and 1992, it defined daily reality for the Lebanese people. This film does not focus on blood and violence, but their unseen shadows touch every picture, every wish, every attempt to understand.
VOICES OF(F) – BEIRUT presents the thoughts and feelings of five members of the Lebanese war-generation who speak frankly about life, in what was once one of the most war-torn places on earth. Today, the past of Beirut and the present of the war-generation in Lebanon seems destined to become the future of Baghdad, Gaza or Riyad – and its people.
