ABOUT THE FILM

Marko Doringer’s film is a road movie, taking us from Austria into the Czech Republic, to Poland, France and Germany – and then back again to Austria. In doing so, he discovers what life is like today at the former theatres of the Second World War. During his odyssey he encounters people born after the war – often of the second or third generation. They are the (great) grandchildren of either former Wehrmacht soldiers or former victims of Nazism, and form the actual core of the film.
